How the company was formed:
Two brothers, ages 7 and 9, dropped and damaged their Nintendo DS Lites. Their parents had to send their DS Lites to Nintendo for repairs. The brothers paid for the repairs out of their allowance.
Not wanting to spend more money on their newly repaired DS Lites, they came up with a great idea. One day at the beach brought them their “aha” moment. They brought their boogie boards with them to catch some waves and wore the wrist straps that connect to their boards. They realized it would be cool to have something similar to the boogie board leash that they could use for their video games so they wouldn't drop them anymore.
The brothers discussed the idea with their parents to get help on creating and designing it. They cut up one of their old neoprene wetsuits and started experimenting with the material. They wanted to be able to use it with all of their games. They came up with a prototype similar to the final product that is made today and tested it themselves.
They wore their prototypes everywhere they went while playing their games. All of their friends wanted to know where to buy one. Thus, the Game Leash was born and the brothers are now inventors. With this new invention, they helped start a company called Leashtec, and there are more products in the works. Leashtec is registered with Dun and Bradstreet and a member of the Entertainment Consumers Association.
